Expert care in Virginia & THE DMV area

Stacy Gross,  BCPD, ncs

Before becoming a Certified Postpartum Doula, I spent nearly 20 years as a newborn care specialist, providing childcare and nanny services to families across the Fairfax County area.

Over the years, I've built lasting bonds with families, some of whom I've supported since their infants' earliest days. I've also worked closely with children who have diverse needs and am skilled in enteral feeding, making sure each child gets the care and nutrition they need.

Originally from North Carolina, I've called Burke, Virginia, home for more than 20 years. I share my life with my husband, two sons - one in high school and the other a college graduate - and our beautiful, sometimes naughty golden retriever.

When I'm not caring for others, you'll usually find me baking, curled up with a good book, or enjoying time with my family - especially over my son Noah's grilled ribeyes.

A Postpartum Doula's Role

Becoming a parent is a huge life transition. Your body has changed, your responsibilities are new, and you're learning to navigate life with a tiny human. On top of that, you may be figuring out feeding, adjusting to hormonal shifts, and carrying more than you ever have before. If there's ever been a time you need help managing it all, this is it.

One of the hardest parts of entering parenthood is that it's unpredictable. You don't always know what kind of support will be most helpful. That's where a postpartum doula comes in. A doula provides practical, hands-on support and emotional guidance, tailored to your needs.

A postpartum doula can help with household tasks like laundry and dishes, giving you more time to rest and bond with your baby. They can offer overnight support so you can catch up on sleep, provide a listening ear as you process your birth experience, and check in to support your emotional well-being during this adjustment period.

Whatever support you need, a postpartum doula is here to help you navigate those early weeks with confidence, calm, and care.

A little about my journey...

Your Comfort Is My Passion & Purpose

Being certified as a postpartum doula means a lot to me on personal and professional levels.

It's all about providing the essential support that I wish I had received when I was a new mom.

After each of my children were born, I went through a tough time with the baby blues.

The combination of sleep deprivation, not-so-great eating, breastfeeding hurdles, and a serious lack of support left me and my husband overwhelmed during our first few weeks of parenthood.

That's why I'm so passionate about offering care and necessary support to new parents.
